What Happens When I Pour Oil To My Drains?

Do you know the difference between fats, oil, and grease?

If not, don’t pour any down your drain. If you have a lot of oil or fat built up in your drains chances are you have a plumbing problem in the future.

Do you know what happens when you pour cooking oil into your drains?

It creates a slippery surface for all the food and grease that is going down the drain. This can cause a buildup of things like soap scum, hair, and other yucky stuff.

One of the most common causes of a clogged drain is the buildup of debris in the pipes. It is a common misconception that oil can be poured down the drain to help with clogs.

In this blog post, we will discuss how you can get rid of these blocked drains by using things around the house or by contacting a plumber.

First, find and locate where the blockage drain is then add an equal amount of hot water (you can use boiling water). pour it down into your clog drains and let it sit for five to 10 minutes before pouring more hot water down the drain. This will help lubricate any stuck-on food particles or the solid oil build-up which should make them easier to remove with a plunger.
